Regulation and travel conditions
DEFINITIONS
“Shuttle Italy Airport” refers to the service provided by VIP S.r.l. “Passenger” means any person being transported or about to be transported by VIP S.r.l. vehicles. “Shuttle” refers to the various vehicles used by VIP S.r.l. to cover the route Rimini – Cesena – Bologna Airport and vice versa, as well as all other connections offered by VIP S.r.l.
GENERAL TRAVEL CONDITIONS
Boarding and alighting from buses must take place exclusively at authorized stops along the route of the bus line. If the stop is on request, the passenger must indicate in advance their intention to board or alight: for boarding, by being present at the stop; for alighting, by informing the driver in a timely manner. Boarding is not allowed if the maximum number of passengers permitted by the vehicle’s registration certificate has already been reached.
TRAVEL CONDITIONS FOR SHUTTLE + TAXI SERVICE USERS
The pick-up and drop-off address for the Shuttle + Taxi option must be entered on the website during the booking process. If a customer provides an incorrect address, Shuttle Italy Airport shall not be held liable for failure to provide the service. The address must be within the perimeter shown on the ticket map (e.g., Rimini City Center …). If it is outside the coverage area, after confirmation of availability by the taxi driver, the customer must pay an extra fee directly on board. The taxi is not exclusive and may be shared with other customers.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
To board, the passenger must have a valid travel document issued by the Company, purchased online, at authorized resellers, or directly from the onboard staff. The travel document must be kept intact and recognizable for the entire journey. Passengers must arrive at the boarding point at least 5 minutes before the scheduled departure; otherwise, they may be considered absent, and the seat may be reassigned. Tickets, even if not validated, are NON-refundable. Ticket changes are possible; route direction changes are not allowed.
Requests for date or time changes must be sent by email or phone as follows: (Shuttle + Taxi) at least 48 hours before departure, (Shuttle) at least 3 hours before departure. Tickets can also be modified directly via the website www.shuttleitalyairport.it by selecting “Do you need to change your travel date?” at least 24 hours before departure. A validated ticket is personal and non-transferable. Promotional tickets are NON-refundable and NON-modifiable. The “round-trip promotion” ticket from Bologna can be used at different times on the same day in case of flight delays or early arrivals, subject to bus seat availability, but cannot be moved to another day. Passengers must show their travel document at every check by VIP S.r.l. staff.
The carrier is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.
SEAT BELTS
Passengers must comply with Article 172 of the Highway Code (as amended by Legislative Decree No. 150 of 13/03/06, implementing EU Directive 2003/20/EC) regarding the mandatory use of seat belts and child restraint systems. Passengers must fasten their seat belts when available, following instructions on pictograms on seats or windows, or provided by the driver, ticket agent, or audiovisual information. Non-compliance is the personal responsibility of the passenger, and for minors, the accompanying adult. Vehicles registered before 2000 are exempt from the seat belt requirement; if present, belts must be used.
TRANSPORT OF CHILDREN AND MINORS
Children from 0 to 4 years (inclusive), accompanied by one adult, travel free unless occupying a seat, in which case they must sit on the accompanying adult’s lap. Children from 5 to 10 years pay a reduced fare. Minors over 10 years pay the full fare. Minors under 14 are allowed to travel only if accompanied by an adult throughout the journey, who assumes full responsibility for their supervision. Passengers aged 14 to 18 must have written authorization from their parents or legal guardians, including a copy of the ID.
TRANSPORT OF PETS
Small pets are allowed if equipped with a device to make them harmless (muzzle, leash, cages, boxes, etc.). The accompanying person must prevent the pet from sitting on seats, dirtying or damaging the vehicle, or harming passengers. The companion is responsible for any damage caused. A ticket must be purchased for each pet for each trip at the current rate.
Guide dogs for the visually impaired are allowed free of charge, without a muzzle and regardless of size. Transport of other animals may be refused if the conditions above are not met.
TRANSPORT OF LUGGAGE
The ticket includes transport of one suitcase, one carry-on bag, and, if applicable, a stroller per person. Transport of bulky sports equipment (bicycles, surfboards, skis, etc.) is by request via email (Rimini line: info@shuttleitalyairport.it) and only after office approval; an “extra baggage” ticket will be charged. Additional checked baggage will require additional tickets.
Baggage is insured against damage during the journey due to carrier responsibility, not for insufficient packaging. Items not stowable in overhead compartments must go in external luggage compartments. Passengers are advised to keep valuables (cameras, PCs, money, jewelry, etc.) with them. Passengers must monitor their luggage during waiting, loading, and unloading. All luggage, including carry-on, must have an identification tag. Dangerous or flammable goods are prohibited. Liability for lost or damaged paid baggage follows Italian Law 22/8/85 n. 450, with €6.20/kg limit, max €103.29 per bag. Lost or damaged baggage must be reported upon return with a copy of the travel document. Additional baggage is allowed only if there is space on the bus. Shuttle Italy Airport does not transport luggage alone.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Passengers are prohibited from: smoking (Law 584/75); behaving disruptively; occupying more than one seat or standing in aisles or near doors while the bus is moving; advertising or commercial activities without company consent; dirtying, damaging, or tampering with the bus; boarding intoxicated or under the influence of drugs; unnecessary use of emergency
door controls. Passengers must follow all instructions for safety and service. Passengers must occupy available seats and remain seated until the bus stops. The Company is not
responsible for incidents caused by non-compliance.
SCHEDULES AND CONNECTIONS
Published schedules may change. Changes will be posted online and at stops. Travel times are subject to weather, traffic, strikes, roadblocks, accidents, and force majeure. No refunds are given for delays beyond the Company’s control. In case of highway blockages, the driver may take alternative routes with authorization. Refunds are provided if: service is canceled without notice, or no replacement service is provided within 60 minutes. Passengers may choose to use the next available service. If the vehicle becomes unusable mid-journey, the Company ensures continuation or transport to a suitable point/station.
COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
If the customer fails to provide a valid email at booking, the responsibility is solely theirs. Shuttle Italy Airport is not responsible for missed communications if no email is provided. The same applies to travel agencies providing only a company email instead of the final customer’s contact.
VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES
Passengers without a valid ticket must pay a minimum fine of €100. Passengers violating the Code of Conduct may be denied boarding or removed from the bus without prejudice to further legal action.
LOST AND FOUND
Found items are kept at VIP S.r.l., Via Novafeltria 10, Riccione (RN), weekdays 9:00–12:00 and 14:30–18:00, for a maximum of 2 weeks.
